Why Frames.gg exists
Frames.gg exists to make TekkenDocs’ frame-data information available offline on iPhone. It is entirely free and will remain free. If TekkenDocs releases its own app with comparable offline functionality, Frames.gg will likely be retired.
The app uses publicly available material supplied through TekkenDocs, with credit to upstream contributors. Portraits for Tekken 8, 7, and 6 come from TekkenDocs; Tag 2 uses initials cards. Frames.gg is independent and is not affiliated with or endorsed by TekkenDocs or Bandai Namco. Third-party material remains the property of its respective owners.
Common questions
How do I switch games?
Use the game dropdown at the top of the character roster. Each game has its own saved frame data and update history. Your selection is remembered when you reopen the app.
What works without an internet connection?
Available character artwork, initials cards, bundled and saved frame data, move search, filters, and the notation guide work offline. Saved video previews also remain available. Updating data, fetching new previews, opening source websites, and playing demonstrations require a connection.
How do I update the frame data?
Open Settings using the gear on the character screen, then choose “Check for updates.” With automatic updates enabled, the app checks once daily while it is open. If a download fails, your existing offline snapshot is kept. Try again when you have a working connection.
Why is a move value or demonstration missing?
Coverage varies across community sources and games. Frames.gg leaves missing values unavailable. Recordings are streamed from an external provider and may be unavailable or change. A snapshot date identifies the source data; it is not a verified current game patch.
How do I search commands or learn the notation?
Move search accepts compact notation such as df2 and traditional notation such as d/f+2. You can also search by move name, notes, or stance. Open Settings → Notation guide for command and property explanations.
How do I remove local app data?
Delete Frames.gg in iPhone Settings to remove its current on-device data and preferences. Offloading the app keeps its documents and data. A later reinstall starts with the bundled dataset unless data is restored from a device backup.
